Hello all,
Hope you can help me out with this, I'm wanting to upgrade the analog half of my studio from 4 Track 1/4" to 8 tracks. I've done some homework on various recorders, and I have my eye on the Fostex A8 LR. What is a reasonable price for the unit in good working order? I've found two; one works, and one's a parter, but they both seem very overpriced for their condition. Thank you, Evan |

This is just me but I would consider $200 as "fair" for a well kept, lower use A8 and about half that (maybe less) for one as a "parts unit", both as local pickup deals though. Be prepared to put in some minor servicing no matter the condition of the unit(s).

If you were in the UK, I'd be happy for you to take my A8 as a parts/repair unit. These machines are pretty old - to be honest I'd look for something younger if it were me. (Of course mine was one of the stereotypical 'bad ebay purchases' so I'm kind of biased...)
