Teac A-2000

Anyone ever hear of this model number? If you have, do you know approximately when the production dates were, quality of machine as compared to others, or where it fits in the Teac family of recorders?

Depends on what you want to use it for but this looks like an older version of the TEAC 2300 series. If it's anything like the 2300, it's a typical consumer deck, albeit a well built one, for playing back 4 tracks tapes and basic recording, much like on a stereo cassette deck but with greater fidelity. It should also have 2 speeds, 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 ips and be a belt drive capstan. I have no clue when exactly it was made but this looks like a 70's model. How it stacks up to others under the TEAC family of recorders is really a broad question as so many, in various configurations and built quality were made. I'd rate it as somewhere on the lower food chain of TEACs, taking every model outthere into question. As compared to others yet, I'd say it's just a well made consumer model much like other brands, Sony, Akai etc .....

Any ideas of where to look up this deck online ? I've been looking for features, and comments on the machine, heck even pictures to get an idea of it, and can't find but 2 references to it, one of which is the one I just bought !

There seems to be little info online from my own searches. It's not a very popular machine and I doubt you'll find comments / reviews on it.

Here's one I found, 3rd one from the top:
