Talking

I'm fairly new to the wonderous word of recording and I currently own Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, but I would eventually like to upgrade to a more professional system with more capabilities. My friend's dad just got PARIS by Ensoniq, and from the little bit I've seen of it the sound quality is really good, but it doesn't seem very user friendly. I am pretty good with Cakewalk and am familiar with the editing features it has. I have messed around with PARIS a bit, but it lacks some of the editing tools that I am used to and it's hard to get it to do what I want it to. I have heard that they are coming out with a new PARIS system and completely redoing it, adding MIDI, and (hopefully) making it more user friendly Does anyone know anything about this new system and what improvements they've made?

I checked out the SEK'D site which was recommended on another message board and from what I can tell they have some nice professional systems with very good editing features, but I don't know how they sound.

I'd appreciate any information on how these two compare and which one would be the best buy, or just any other higher end software that would be worth checking out.

Here is the SEK'D site if anyone wants to check it out. http://www.sekd.com/

Cool SEK'D

Has anyone had ANY (good or bad) experiences with SEK'D software or hardware? Anything I can go on will be great. From what I can tell from the website it has good editing features, so the main thing I'm looking for is how it sounds. I'm also looking at the SEK'D SIENA (8 analog inputs and outputs) sound card. I have also heard that Cubase is really good, so any any feedback on SEK'D, Paris, Cubase, or if anyone has any other suggestions, that would be great too. Thanx in advance.

I'm not that familiar with the SEKD but Paris is a kick ass DAW.
It is slowly becoming the #2 DAW after Pro Tools with some proffesionals.

I have worked with Paris for 2 months and found it to be an excellent sounding and powerfull tool.
Give it a closer look.
