Unhappy How to use ART Tube MP Preamp w/ Tascam 424

Hey Gents,
I have a nice cheapo Tube MP Preamp that I would like to use for its Phantom Power with my condenser mic, and as a preamp to add a little color to my vocal tracks~ But, I'm not exactly sure what how to use the OUTPUT & INPUT knobs on the Tube MP preamp, when its plugged into the 424. Especially since I never used and external preamp

I'm guessing that the TRIM knob on 424 should be all the way off (counter clockwise) and that the Tube MP's Output and Input knobs should be adjusted. But, since I have never used and external preamp, and not too sure.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Tube MP preamp, and what the best way to use the Output and Input knobs.
Also, is it better to use the 1/4" OUTS from the Tube MP to the 1/4" MIC/LINE INPUTS of my 424 MkII, or the XLR OUTS from the Tube MP to the XLR MIC/LINE INPUTS of my 424?

Sorry for such a new question.
Thanks all

I'd keep the trim up on the mixer, find the sweet spot on the input and compressor settings and adjust the output accordingly. Not sure about keeping the trim all the way down. Use the xlr output you'll get a better signal. There's also a 20db boost on the input if you need it. You've just got to play around with it to get the right sound. But I normally keep the trim up. Not sure if thats better or worse. Whatever is the quietest with most signal I guess.
