Hey there, headbangers. I have "finished" the mixing of this song. Please let me know what do you think. Make comments on the mix too. Thanks in advance.

heh with name like Cannibals Death, I'm picking this won't be a love song. The opening is suitably spooky. The vocals are clear enough but the drums need more balls, and the kit needs balancing - the hats kick & snare are too quiet compared to the toms. Is there a bass? Can't hear it on headphones. How did you record the drums?

I agree, the balance of the drum kit is way off. The toms are super loud and everything else is terribly small.
You need some low end in the mix too. I think I hear a bass guitar here and there but it doesn't really have any power (I'm not even positive that it's in there)
My guess would be that you have been listening to the mix extremely loud and were unable to pick up on the balance issues. When I really crank it up it sounds alot better.

thiiiiiiiiiiin mix. Get some balls in there man!

Balls on the guitars!
Balls on the drums!
Balls on the vox!
Balls on the bass! (if there is any bass)

Perhaps put some Ernie Balls on your guitar as well, just for good measure.

Is the name inspired by Cannibal Corpse, mayhaps?

Hey Metalhead and Bulls Hit, you're both right. I was not aware that the toms were too high. I'm adjunsting now the levels so they don't come up too loud.

Responding to your question Bulls Hit... the drums... are programmed drums... but they sound pretty real, uh?

Oh, and I forget, there's a bass section but is in the back of te mix. I will bring it up too. Thanks for your advices, I'll post the track with the modifications in a while.

You mean volume? This is a mix and is not mastered to peak 0db and I can't beef up everything.

The title of the song is inspired by Cannibal Corpse and Death, two of my favorite bands. By the way, I rip off a tiny lick of Hammer Smashed face in a part of the song, ihope someone notice it.

Okey, check it again. I decresed the toms levels, raise up the snare and the bass... So... any advices after hearing the new mix? Thanks.

I was talking about EQ and the lack of any bottom whatsoever on the guitars.
The drums do sound better now (even though technically the tones are kinda bad) at least they're closer to a proper volume now.

The guitars sound like they're being played through a 5 watt practice amp tbfh.. they need some low end EQ boost.

also raise both the vocals and bass guitar another decibel or 2.

I didn't listen to any of the earlier mixes, but will agree with the others, those drum sounds have got to change. That style of music relies heavily on the drums and their tone for the music to carry any weight. Even as a Bass player, you could probably squeak by with the bass as low as it is if you have killer drums. The current sound/tone does nothing but kill the mix. If you get that corrected, the rest of it will come much easier.

You're right man... I've noticed that... I have to rework the drum eq, especially the godammed double bass drum.

Double Bass Drum Test

I'm testing a new double bass drum sound. I used as a reference the Morbid Angel live DRUM CHECK (http://www.myspace.com/morbidangelmusic)

So, I've uploaded a file containing two samples. There's a slight difference between them:
First one: 2KHz boost (around 2db)
Second one: 3Khz boost (around 2db)
You can take look at the EQ here

http://www.killthepixelnow.com/infec...m_test_001.mp3

I think it sounds better than the one I used for the song. What do you guys think? Does it need a little more bass on it? Thanks

Drum question...

No one here?
A new drum test. I think it sounds more suitable for the music I play:
