Ok so this is the first song ive done copmletely everyting on....all parts are recorded by me, on my crappy 2000 compaq in my room.....so tell me what you think. I also know there are sections where the audio peaks, and it is very annoying. Another note....there are no drums because when i recorded this my band didnt have a drummer so....hope you like it http://www.myspace.com/apparatussmg

and one last thing its the first song on the page ....Cascade

ya i do know its adobe audition.....just say cool edit out of habit i guess. So im thinking of getting just a mixing board....nothing fancy prolly 12-16 channel mackey or yamaha. Lets say i wanted to record 4 tracks simultaneosly....would i be able to record them to seperate tracks using a mixing board? also would i use rca cables to connect a mixer into the back of my comp, or 1/4 inch....some have usb but i dont trust usb transfer speed not to lag. Others have firewire but are semi pricey. thanks in advance

Do yourself a favor and go right to the Firewire.

M-Audio has some really nice solutions.

I am 1 week away from buying this......http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...ixIO-main.html

Don't let the price scare you...... that is their most expensive control surface. You don't need to spend anywhere near that if you don't want to.

I beleive they have options a cost effective as $150.

M-Audio stuff is REALLY REALLY good, and easy to use.

No you don't need a sound card.....

The device you buy will act as the sound device to Adobe Audtion.

You would need a Firewire Card.

(My SoundBlaster Audigy happens to have a Firewire interface built in as a bonus, but....... just buy a $50 PCI firewire card....)

You don't need a drummer. Use sampled drums. Is easy to mix and you don't have to spend thousands of dollars in proper mics and a decent drum kit. I will recommend BFD or Drumkit drom Hell.
