Question about a TRS connection...

alright, here's the deal...i scored on a UREI 530 EQ a while back that had no connectors screwed onto the back. the individual i acquired it from told me that he could build them later, and they arrived the other day in the mail

now to the problem: i received 2 cables, each with a TRS connector on one end, and the three connectors for the positive, negative, and ground on the other.

now, each channel on the unit has a total of 5 connection points: a +/- for both the input and output, and the ground

i tried connecting the + on the cable to the + on the input and the - on the cable to the - on the output...ground to the ground of course. didn't work.

so then i switched it, and connected the - on the cable to the - on the input and + on the output to the + on the cable. still no luck.

anyways, what do i need to connect to what in order to get this thing working?
