I want to play my guitar and record it onto my computer.
I heard if you want an “analog” sound you place your amp in front of your mic, play your guitar and record. Is this correct? Will I get a good recorded sound if I do this? I’m using a Peavey Bandit Amp and a AKG CS1000 Condenser mic. I’m also recording in Acid Pro 2.0. Please help. Thanks! |

Well...
...you need to experiement. If mic'ing an amp with a condenser, if I were you...
a) I'd get the amp away from the floor a good 2-3 feet b) If your room sounds halfway decent, I'd mic it 1 to 2 feet away c) The condenser will be picking up a lot more high-frequency info than say an SM57 would, so you may find the sound a bit too thin and harsh. If that's the case, try putting a heavy blanket over both the amp and the mic and see what happens... It's all about trying it out and listening to the results! Bruce |

More questions
Hi, thanks for your help, but I do have Acid Pro 2.0 and I am very familiar with making music through it.
What I want is something where I can make a loop from scratch. I don't want to use all these pre-made loops. Please help. And thanks again for the replies. |
