Hello,
My drum room is 7 foot 2" by 6 foot 3" - the only space I had. I will be doing some treatment soon – presently I have the 4 " of open stud on 400mm centres ( I built a room within in room) for acoustic treatment. I was thinking broadband absorbers filling the studs with 4” RW3 Rockwool density 60 KG/M2 and covering with fabric sandbag hessian – this will kill the box sound I have I’ll probably foam the ceiling which is low aswell ( 6 foot 7") I know my solution will produce a dead room but I can’t really come up with anything else. Any suggestion really appreciated.I have studied John Sayers site, Auralex, Malcolm's Page. Fishmed I notice your drum room is much the same size as mine what treatment did you go for ? Cheers guys and keep up the good work. |

Transputer - I'd use the ceiling space to hang some low-mid hangers like I've done in my small drum room

Thanks John. With 6 foot 7" I'm stuck for height. I could put hangers in the corners.Any idea on a Sabine figure for MDF dacron covered hangers or any absorption charts ? Using 18 mm MDF about 6 foot 4 " long by about 6 to 8 inches wouldn't take up too much floor space - probably get about 4 in each corner, except the door corner. Or I could hang them in each 400mm void perhaps, get one or two in the open stud then cover with fabric and forget the rockwool.I've seen dacron in 2oz, 3 oz and 4 oz so I'll go for the 4oz stuff ?
Thanks again. |
