just got a flanger

on ebay..boss bf-2, the discontinued model....$45 for a used one as opposed to around what, $90 brand new? i think it's a pretty good deal, i cant wait to give it a shot..only thing that sucks is it's going to probably take forever to get here because the seller only accepts money orders, and no paypal at all :-\ oh well, hopefully this things worth it lol

Is that the purple one? I have a Boss flanger, but I can't remember if its the BF2 or not. Its a very versatile flanger pedal, has both guitar and bass inputs, stereo outputs, a gate/pan function, and 2 different flanger types.

My only complaint is that it sounds a little "metallic" and artificial on a lot of its settings, but you can really get some spacy sounds out of it that you normally wouldn't associate with a flanger. When you fiddle with the 'manual' and 'resonance' knobs, you can tame it down to a subtle flange that sounds awesome on slightly overdriven guitar, and on clean guitar as well.

Hope you enjoy. Its one of the 3 pedals that I keep plugged in all the time, which should say something about it coming in handy pretty frequently.

About half my BOSS stuff came from e bay. I went for the phaser as opposed to the flanger...might go for one, it's a pretty cool effect!

I have an old ibanez chorus/flanger. I never use it because it sounds like crap. Maybe it is this specific one. I normally just condemn the whole institution of modulation effects.

It would make this cool noise when you turn the knobs while you're playing. I wish it had a pedal or something.
