Audio Quantizing?
So how do you quantize guitar tracks? especially strumming guitars besides practicing? is there a such thing to do it for a losing-rythm guy like me? I want it tight and along the grid with the drum tracks?

Obviously the best thing you can do is learn to play on time.
With that said, Melodyne has a feature to align an audio track to a certain tempo. As long as you're not playing completely out of time and are at least somewhat close, you can get good results. Depending on how much processing it needs to do there may be a few artifacts in the file, but in a dense mix it probably wouldn't be noticeable. You could also setup a click track in the tempo, and time stretch portions of the audio track so each strum, at least the 1/4 lands on the beat. Wouldn't it make it easier though just to learn to play in time? ![]() |

One way to do it is to edit the strums manually, sliding them to where you want them. This will take a while, but it gives you the ultimate control over the placement of the strums.

You have to cut the track every time you strum. Then you have to move those strums to where they belong on the grid. Then you have to fill the gaps and do the crossfades.
The trick to it is knowing where on the grid the strum belongs. The majority of people that can't play on time don't know how to count the part in the first place. That will make quantizing almost impossible.
