PSP Vintage Warmer

I'm looking for a compressor plug for the mastering process. I was thinking about the voxengo plugs (I have the elephant). Also, I've downloaded the demo of the PSP vintage warmer, which I kinda like.

Just wondering/curious what others think of the vintage warmer.

I love PSP's Vintage Warmer, but I wouldn't use it as a mastering compressor.

PSP makes a plugin called "MasterComp" that is designed to be a mastering compressor. It's one of the best plugin mastering comps out there, in my opinion. Not that I've tried them all, but I was impressed with how good it sounded and how well it worked. I think it would be worth your downloading that and checking it out.

I am not a big VW fan. Audio tends to get a bit harsh using it.

Can be pretty cool, in the right context.

PSP make some good stuff for the most part. Never boring or clinical.

What he said. If you can try it, have a look at the Waves Linear Broadband comp. Nice.

I've been tinkering with the VW for a few days now... and, I'm not hearing this harshness... Just not hearing it...

I kinda like the sound of this plug... hmmm... anyway

I think I'm in agreement. I was using the demo today while doing some work on an acoustic slide guitar, and it was nice. I have to have it now...

I like it on bass. Ummmmm......sometimes on guitar. I don't think I'd ever use it on a full mix.
