BIG problem with Roland VS-2000, please help!!!

Ok, it says in the manual that you should NEVER simply push the off button to shut the studio down, and that you should always shut it down using the correct process.

Well today I accidentally just pushed off button (I though I was turning it on because I thought the VS-2000 was off!) and now the system wont load up at all.

When I turn on my VS-2000 it says "Laoding Project" and when the progress bar gets a certain way it stops.

I have been using it for a year and half and never accidentally turned it off like this!

So far I have tried unplugging it and leaving it for 10 minutes or so and then turning it back on, I've also tried booting it with a backup data cd in the drive. I've tried these a good few times but nothing is working.

Please help me as I am suposed to have this album finished within the week and it's really freaking me out!!

Thanks.

Best bet

I hate to say this--call Roland. As you know their manual is about as useful as a newspaper to a blind man. You may lose all the information stored on your hard drive.

Ok thanks for the advice. Yeah data loss is no problem as I have absolutely everything backed up.

I talked to some tech people and I'm gonna replace my hard drive which I've been wanting to do anyway. If that doesnt work I'll definatly call Roland.

My VS is out of warranty anyway so replacing the HD should not cause a problem.

Thanks again, and yes, the manual is useless, no help section, no troubleshooting, nothing!

I've done that before.

It SUCKS.

Had to tell a band I was recording for 2 months - "Sorry boys - I lost it all".

It's actually a pretty disappointing problem the Vs2000 has.

I fixed the problem myself.

If I remember correctly, I had to hold some buttons upon pressing power, so I could re-format the harddrive.
