Is it possible to record directly on a VCR? I don't have a 4 track but I have a 8 track mixer and I wondered if I could mix it into the VCR? And then burn it to a disk. Would it sound half way good.

I use a VCR, does a great job, quiet, no flutter, great headroom, and you can get one for around one hundred bucks, or less.

It has to be HIFI stereo, and it has to have index search.

I have been using a Panasonic for years, haven't had any trouble with it. Sounds great.

If your on a budget, HIFI VCR is the most bang for the bucks, hands down. I don't have to tell you how cheap, and accesible vidio tape is either.

You probably already have a HIFI VCR hooked to your TV, give it a try, you will be amazed.

No view meters so you have to experiment.
