monitor setup

what is the better buy??? Active KRK rokit 5s

Or a rack amp and a pair of alesis mkII??

I figured that if I get the amp then I can replace speakers more easily and cheaper. But I may get better quality in the KRKs.

I think you'll find a lot of love for the KRK monitors in this forum, and I am no exception. I actually just bought a pair of the RB-5's yesterday and hooked em up... very clear, accurate representation of wehat was recorded, and how I'd like the mix to translate to other audio playback devices. Never used the Alesis mkII's, so I guess I can't compare, but I have no complaints so far about the KRK's, and they are loud as Hell if you need it, and that's just the 5" version!

KRK's, no question. I've got a pair of V4's, which I love.

thanks guys. I keep posting a million monitor comparison questions on here. I am not going to buy them for another month or so, but everytime I am surfing the net, I seem to stumble across a new brand or a new configuration ( amps etc. ) so thanks for all of the help and the patience with all my monitor questions throughout the entire forum. I guess the KRKs just can't be beat.
