quick headphone amp question!
http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_hp_6.htm
me and a friend are looking to buy this headphone amp to use in the recording of different sections of our big band - we need six headphone outputs, so this appears to be ideal. we were confused though, by the large amount of inputs on the back - we're trying to convince ourselves that plugging only into input 1 would send the signal to all six headphone outputs? is this what it means by "linking possible" (thomann need to sort out their product description translations, eh? ) if so, what are the other six inputs for? thanks for any help! Andy.

Wow, better descriptions would be nice...
Is there a link anywhere to a manual to browse before you buy it? Without that one could only assume, and you know what people say about that... ![]() |

"linking possible", Each channel has seperate inputs, but you can just tie them all togeather if you want every set to have the same signal.

that's what i wanted to hear!! d'you think that means you have to phyiscally link them with patch cables, or does inserting cables into the other inputs break the link that otherwise feeds all the amps from input 1?ta! Andy.

I thought linking meant you could link more that one unit together for more headphone outputs from the same source, i.e., you could link two 6 phone units together so that you could use 12 sets of phones from the same mix.
Like I said, I could be wrong, but that's how I thought it was supposed to work.

Yo Andy:Simply, most headphone amps have STEREO outs, as cans are usually stereo. There is one input that is stereo. This usually plugs into the DAW. In my case, I plug into my 2816. I have a 4 channel unit so I can have 4 talents/listeners plugged in. What I like about my unit is each channel has its own fader; thus the volume can be fitted to various types of ears. So, I'm thinking you would go stereo from your Mixer/DAW/SIAB to the can amp; then, you would use cans which have a stereo plug. Cheers, Green Hornet ![]()
