Use for gobos
Hi I have made some go-betweens out of styrofoam panels. I made them so I could deal with some of the reflections in my room, but it seems I've been given contradictory advice. The room is a conservatory with wooden floors and a high glass roof. Maybe 30 X 15. When it comes to acoustic guitars I have been told to dampen the sound (the primary reason for gobos) and I have been told to record in the open room. I was thinking I could make a triangle of the styrofoam panels and sing into it for vocals but was looking for further applications. I know it's not an ideal sound treatment but I'm just intrested in what I can apply it to.

Normally you'd be applying gobos as the situation calls for, generally for a little more isolation or bleed control, or to specifically modify the ambience one way or the other.
But Styrofoam seems like it might be a bit limited.(?) -Might it act mostly like a high and mid reflector/barrier? |
