Getting Skins to show up in CW XL V2
I thought all was well with my VSTs until a friend was over and he pointed out that some of my VSTs have the snazzy skins showing up and some don't. They still work sonically, but he was right, many didn't have the cool looking skins that were shown on the various sites where I downloaded them.
More info: yes I'm a cheap bastard and these are all the freebies and I'm using Cakewalk VST Adapter 4... I took a look around the forums a bit, but didn't seem to find anything... ![]()

Just in case somebody stumbles accross this post someday I wanted to post my findings. I went back and did a search at kvraudio where most of my freebie pluggins are from, and found a number of the pluggins in question. Turns out, they have no cool skins shown either at kvraudio or on the sites where the pluggins are actually available. So I guess the short answer is, some vst pluggins simply don't have skins and I guess there some sort of standardized control panel that Cakewalk creates for such skins.
