External controled playback of midi?
I'm using an external recorder as Master MTC to playback virtual instrument midi parts in Cakewalk, then route the audio from the VI back to the external recorder.
Problem is, if I just push play on the software transport buttons then the midi plays back with sound, but if I press play on the ext. rec. the sequencers transport looks like it is playing but it doesn't play the sounds with the midi. Any Ideas? Thanks, Mongoo |

I understand your situation but can't solve the problem. I think if you do get it figured out, you'll still have a latency problem.
My suggestion would be to convert those virtual instrument tracks to audio tracks within Sonar/Cakewalk. Then you'll be able to monitor sound in at least two directions.
