Echoing Effect?

Hello. I want to know what's the best setting for the doubling effect. I'm a rapper. I want to emphasis certain rhymes. In professional songs they have certain parts
"echoed" in a almost "doubled" sounding way. Now I know you can highlight and go to echo. But I would like to know what's some good settings. I'm not getting the desired effect myself. Thanks. I'm using Cool Edit Pro.

Make up a new track and record your rhymes a second time.
this will be closest to what you desire.
