It looks a little too rustic for me, I like my neck inlay markers too much I reckon! And I'll beat up my own guitars..I've done it just fine so far~

if for no other reason than it makes you less paranoid about putting that first mark on it. It's like having a new car that you park way out away from everyone, and then you freak out when it gets it's first scratch or ding. A few years later you just hop in it and go, you barely pay attention. That's why I keep looking for a used LP that's in good structural condition, but the cosmetics are a little 'challenged'.
