Soundcard for bass/guitar recording?

Hey there, I am wondering if anyone has reccomendations for what external soundcard I should buy for recording DI'd bass guitar and mic'd up lead guitar. I am recording the bass DI with an avalon U5 unit. I only need to record things one at a time, any suggestions as to what I should buy?

What's your budget? Do you anticipate needing more than 1-2 input channels ever?

budget, i dunno, whatever is required, I want the quality to be very good although obviously I have limits, say anything from 100-300. i anticipate not many channels, so like 1 really.
