Question

I often notice the annoying hammer-on of notes when I start a run up past the twevth fret; you know, when you put your fingers in place right before you paly the note? Sounds kind of...odd. Main culprit is the A string I believe.

Also...if my notes are sharp at the twevth fret I move the sadlles...backwards right?

I don't know about that hammer on effect. I think thats more about technique. Getting your finger on the note right as you are going to pick it. If you need to fret it before picking, try getting your picking hands palm on the bridge to dampen the string.

Maybe your action is a little high for your playing style? Make sure that your pickup(s) aren't too high too.

Yes, move the saddles back.

Yeah the old 'action' thing...I think my action is as low as I can get it...it's always something I'm conscous of because i like to play fast.

It's something I notice alot on a bass....if you go from playing the low E to a G on the third fret...string seems to hit the fretboard kinda hard.

It could be that your action is too low. I guess you would notice excess buzzing though. It's probably something that you'll have to work out in your technique, maybe specific to that guitar.

Really don't think so. How many times have you played a hammer on on the A string form the 14 to the 17th fret? Actually I'll try it on your guitar some time and see if it happens.

Well I'll be able to see if it's my technique or my guitar then. If it happens, gues sits my technique. I really only noticed it when I play 'love is only a feeling' by The Darkness. I can lower the A and E strings on the 1st saddle and still intionate them that way if needs be.

It's on my to-do list. I got started on many parts of it but now I'm procrastinating. How about I finish the mixer/signal routing part and do a question and answer thing with you guys on the cubase le basics stuff and use that to kick everything off? My biggest challenges in this have been with how to keep everything organized and not sound like a preaching dick.

Oh yeah? The 'Made in the USA' emblazened on the headstock might disagree with you. Anyways, it deosn;t matter where you bought yours if you can;t play it. And I did fix my action.

Do either of you asshats know how signal routing works yet? And why in the hell haven't you made the move to Reaper yet? Hmmm?

Jesus. One day we'll have a talk about the apostrophe and the semi-colon. No wonder you're failing college. And who said anything about where it was bought? Dublin, same as yours. Dumb fuck.

Btw, emblazened? Try that spelling again. (It's also screen printed by the way). This annoys the shit out of me; people throw money at stuff that they make no effort to understand. "Do I move the saddles back if it's sharp?" I mean for fuck's sake.

And don't get me started on playing the piece of shit. Unintentionally atonal bends do not a good guitarist make. Fuck it, you don't even know your chords. Retarded prick.

I've had a long day; in case you forget, my college course actually counts for something. I don't read books all day and joke about periods with an American guy. I learn about why, in one year, i will ahve more money than you (microeconomic theory).

As far as I'm concerned, the technical schematics of a musical instrument are incidental when compared to playing the thing.

As for playing? Why the fuck did you buy a Strat to play Irish trad? It's like giving someone a kazoo and standing them with the woodwind section of the London Philharmonic. Put your money where your mouth is when it comes to your playing. MP3 clinic. We'll include a poll.
