Help! New to the VS-1680

I seem to be lost in the "Menu Monster". How do you "start" the recording process? It seems there are no straight answers in the book...everything kinda goes off in tangents just when it needs to go straight to the answer.
Any help will be great! I live in the Ft.Worth Dallas Tx area...anybody using these around here?
Thanks.
Mike

VSPlanet

This is the place to go for VS info...try the search function first in the 1680 forum and I bet you find some info...but there's lots of knowledgable people there if you don't find what you need.

Like the other post read...ask the people at vs planet...but to answer that question as simple as possible....plug a mic in (just any dynamic mic) make sure the phantom power switch is off...then whatever channel your in...push the track status button till it blinks red...(the button above the fader on the channel you wish to record on) then press record till it blinks red...then hit play and wham-o
your recording
