Exclamation Midi controller not appering in sonar midi input devises

I just got a midi controller and im having toubles with recording with it. I just got this http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PC-JOYSTICK-...QQcmdZViewItem for conecting the controller to my computer via midi, so i can record into a midi track in sonar. For some reason though, sonar isnt recognising this as an input midi devise. Anyone have any thoughts for how to fix this? thanks

What Kind of controller is it??

I dont think Sonar recognizes controllers in that way. I have one (evolution 4K something)and it doesnt quite work like that, it doesnt need to recognize anything. What exactly are you trying to control?? An onboard sound card??
