I just got my 20/20bas and im thinking i need stands for them. I think it gets too cluttered on my desk and stands would probably set them up nicer. Does anybody hav any stands they prefer?

I feel Like Goldilocks!

Kristian,

I bought the Ultimate speaker stands. They only make two sizes. First I had the taller pair. The tweeters on my DynaudioAcustics BM5a's were to far above my head. I couldn't hear the highs so I exchanged them for the shorter pair. The tweeters are now at my shoulders. My advice, get something adjustable.

Good Luck,

Jamie

You know, I looked around on the web and saw some nice stuff. Then I was checking the local stores and realized that I could probably make what they were selling. Then I look over and they had a small mixer on top of a keyboard stand opened up to the tallest setting. Had them on sale for $20.00. So I bought two and, with a board all the way across to hold the speakers it also created a new shelf. The height is perfect, and adjustable, (though takes up some room when widdening out the stands). Not the most official of set ups, but it works and is economical.

happy hour is an unknown quantity at this point
Not to bash the low-tech solution, but if im buying $500 monitors im not gonna sit them on keyboard stands with a board across. Speaker stands are a very integral part of the sound coming out of the speakers so they are worth the $100 or more a piece.

kristian-

I agree that you should consider buying adjustable stands. I bought some Raxxess stands that were the perfect height for my situation, but I might regret it later if I move or alter my studio. Also, make sure the sound coming out of the monitors isn't reflecting off your mixing console or anything on the table...I'm sure you already know that but it's another good reason to invest in some good stands.

Good luck
