bass trap placement

hey, this should be a simple question, I currently only have 2 bass traps, which corners should they be placed, at close corners (close to the sound source) or fairly far away (from the sound source)?

thanks.

A rectangular room, I assume? If your source is a pair of monitors, the most important thing is to place them symmetrically. I.e., behind monitors on left and right or back behind your ears, left and right. I think people tend to put them in the corners behind the monitors.

Cheers,

Otto
