sidechain gate for drums

I want to try using a gate on drum overhead tracks. I want to gate out all but the snare wack via a sidechain. I need to get a feed from the OH tracks and send them into new gated track but I cant figure out how> I'm using Sonar 5. Maybe Im just having a brain fart Anyone tried this?
Jim

The only way I have found to do sidechaining in Sonar is to use a VST plugin. This is the one I use and is freeware:

Playing about with it will get you where you want to be - basically it allows the "volume" on one track to influence (turn on/off) output on another track.

Sidechaining a gate? That's unheard of.... You should be inline patching a gate. Things like reverb, delay etc would be side chaining.
