that's a cool song! the biggest thing about the mix is the drums are getting drowned out. the gits and the bass are coming through...the snare is almost all i can hear, and it sounds a little strange. great song though, the solo is awesome ! would love to hear that redone! keep working on it ...

on my system...

the snare is generally to loud and isolated

little to no kick

the main vox ambiance doesn't seem to fit

the backing vox needs balancing with the main vox... often it's over powering

sections do sound very good though

Hi Nick.

I love the preformance.

I have a few nits with the mix though.

First of I would try to get it to sound tighter.

just start with the Kick drum and snare, get it to sound powerfull, and level.
Then add the rest of the drum mikes-(tracks) then I usually add bass, and there if your succsessfull you`ll have a foundation.
Its usually wise to pan the kick sanre and bass guitar center.
Then add guitars, thats the way I do it anyways.
Then last vox, when it all is up, you probbabbly need to raise some tracks and lower others.

Btw the vox, are way to wet.
My sorta preset on vox is allways; Cut@100hz and then a little raise between 3000-5000 for prescence.
And increase on 200hz helps giving the voice some more body if needed.
Then I use a carefull amount of compression, (just play around with it).

Then lastly I add some verb, usually medium room for starters, with a blend\mix at 15%.

Anyways you probbably know all of this, or know better
But thats my 2cents.

Anyway my main thought on your mix, is get it a tad tighter

cheers buddy

Btw be carefull with the use of eq, and verb\delay it can really destroy a mix

Hi hi :

Some comments:

Snare : I think it sounds good but it is just containing a fq that dominates the entire snare sound. Just sweep trough it with a 12dB boost an listen till the snare sounds ugly as hell. Will probably be around 300-700, then cut this fq, DONT overdo it otherwise it will sound thin.
Also I think you did a 2k boost which is bit too much, maybe the cut will accentuate the 2k range by cutting another I dunno :P
Same technique for the toms (they usualy benefit from a tiny 10k boost and some 3-4-5k )

Bassguitar sounds really nice but I think it's fighting with the kickdrum

Guitars: Sound good for this style , the harmonics at the end are really cool

Vocals: As said too wet while the backings are too dry switch them and you'll be fine !!

Lead Guitar solo: Cool solo nice sound , a tiny bit of echo on it and turn it up and it will be blowing in your face.

Nice songwriting and producing: The piece really keeps your attention...
I don't have any experience in this kind of music but strangly It reminds me a bit of Paul Gilbert songwriting meets CCR sound?!. I could be way off tough
