Ready for nit's :D "Another Day"

I think I about have this wrapped up now. This is a song that I never felt like I finished the lyrics (wanted another verse) but after 14 years I decided to try messing with the arangement and this is what I came up with.

Just uploaded the latest file. The download is a 320kbps mp3.

It's called "another Day"

Let me know what tweeks you would make.

Thanks in advance.

Lyrics for those who care

PICTURES OF YOUR HELL
WRITTEN BY: DAVID EPPERLY, 1992
INCOMPLETE

WHISPER THE WORDS TO ME
THAT MAKE ME THINK OF SANCTITY
AND DREAMS THAT FELT SO REAL
BEFORE THE PROPHETS DIED

HELP ME MEASURE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN
WHAT I AM AND WHAT I’VE SEEN
CAUSE I DON’T WANT TO BE LIKE THEM
AND THEY DON’T WANT TO BE LIKE ME

THERE WILL COME ANOTHER DAY
THERE WILL COME ANOTHER DAY

SIMPLE WAS THE PASSING BETWEEN
A QUIET VOICE TO A DEAFENING SCREAM
A CLENCHING GRIP TO FALLING FREE
WHEN YOU FIND THAT IT JUST CAN’T BE

IT’S HARDER TO PUT FAITH IN YOUR SELF
THAN IN THE LIES OF SOMEONE ELSE
WHEN THEY’RE SPENDING ALL THEIR DAYS
PAINTING PICTURES OF YOUR HELL

THERE WILL COME ANOTHER DAY
THERE WILL COME ANOTHER DAY

I remember this one, you made some changes to the drums and rhythm on this (correct me if I'm wrong ). Although the last rhythm was cool, this one, being simpler, made me focus on the vocals more. The vocals are great and the backups are very cool. The levels seem pretty good overall. You have a classic rock voice that goes well with this style of music....
I have no nits for you on this one - sounds ready to wrap up......

Thanks Ido1957. The rythem is the same but I picked some different drum sounds and added some rythmic back ground guitars in the chorus so that may have thrown you off. The piano was the last thin added.

Thanks again.

This is much better than that other post

Cool, the vox reminds me of David Bowie or Billy Idol when he actually sings. I am realizing now that my monitors are finally fried The guitar sounds VERY fuzzy on here. I am assuming its my monitors The vocals are very clean.

The song itself is very good. The ending is a tad abrupt, but that might work. Short and sweet. Well done.

Really good song. the tone of the acoustic is growing on me but I'm still not convinced.
The changes to rhythm etc are good. The BVox are great.

Thanks for the comments DavidK & Rayc.

Davidk, The piano has distortion on it but none on the acc guit's. the fills are on an electric withthe pre gain turned way down and the guitar set on the full clean setting. Hope you don't have to drop moolla on new monitors
I'll take a listen to the ending again. I would have to record some longer ringing notes to extend it any.

Rayc, I tried to make the guitars ever so slightly thicker. The only place it bugs me is right at the begining before anything else kicks in. Nect time I will try micing a little closer to the sound hole. It is a pretty thin accoustic.

Thanks again.

Cool and quirky man.... I like it. The sounds are good, and it has a great flow to it. Really nice job on those backing vocals....they compliment the song well.

This is fun...it will get a few more listens later.....

Thanks Dogman Had to clear my throat/cough a few times laying down the backups Little high for me. There's a couple rough spots in them I want to fix, but I am busy recording a song with my nephew at the moment.

Will get back to it though. Let me know if there'a anything mix wise you would do.

Thanks Again

I just got a pair of KRK ST8s an hour ago. I remembered this song for a point of reference. Its not as fuzzy, more of a strange effect and a balance issue, the guitar seems a lil loud. Everything else is fine.

My Tannoys were 14 years old. These Krks are nice, me likely. I think they are giving me a much better view of reality.

Cool new gear! At least my gutars aren't fuzzy anymore. ZZ top tried the whole fuzzy guitar thing on a song Looked wierd.

I'll check out the guitars. I think the best fix I could do is to rerecord them. They have sort of grown on me at this point though. And it sounds good on almost any stereo I throw it at sooooo. I will likely tweek it a bit more and call it good. Thanks for the Nit, and enjoy the KRK's! Pop on some punchy funk and enjoy life
