The only thing more tired than the same old microphone questions is people whining and bitching about it.

We need a simple numbered list of the twenty most frequent answers. They'd be listed on the side of the mic forum page. Each time a repetitive question is asked, you simply post, "No. 14" or ,"No. 2". The stickies and search function will never be used because they require independent effort.

Opinions change. The more experience had with a piece of equipment, the more its limitations are understood. New equipment is introduced into the market frequently. If 5 years ago the question was "What is the best preamp under $200." The answer may have been JoeMeek. Asked now it may be the DMP3. Change is constant. That's just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

Yea it does suck for searching for short terms.

You can always use google to search a specific site.

If you type

"site:http://homerecording.com/bbs db"

into Google then it will only search this website.
