Question Beyer M88 vs Shure SM7?

Just received my M88tg and its got potential on my voice, its pretty full and warm sounding. It absolutely kills my ADK Vienna (on my voice)
Is there a great deal of difference between the M88 and the Shure Sm7, or does the Beyer cover most ground of the Sm7?
Seasons greetings

They cover a lot of the same ground, but the Beyer has more proximity effect than the Shure - it will make your voice sound fuller if that's what you are looking for.

Sigh, he's right again. The sm7 also does a cab very well and will work on close up vocals a little cleaner (the proximity thing)

Third. The M88 and the SM7 are much more similar than either compared with a condenser. And the M88 is useful as a stage vocal mic too.

And the M88 is my first choice for miking bass drum. I would think that an SM7 could do that fairly well but have not heard of anyone using it for that.
