RME ADI 2 Will It work With...?

I'm using an M Audio 2496 and thought of upgrading, first thoughts were for a Lynx L22, but with the diminishing PCI slot it may soon be out dated. So would this..........
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/adi/adi2.htm
work in conjunction with my M Audio 2496, i was told there could be problems with the digital compatability.
Anyone tried this unit, even better anyone tried the two?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

SPDIF is a pretty robust format. I don't think I've ever run across issues with SPDIF incompatibility.

I have a larger RME unit and it is rock solid. They make good stuff.

O.K mshilarious
Many thanks for your advice, i'll buy a RME ATI 2 when the Christmas rush has gone and see how we go. I'm hoping it will be a step up in sound quality from the 2496.
Regards

You know, I have an 192 I've been meaning to install, I should try the RME into that if I get around to a next week . . .

That would be great, it would be nice to to know if the 2 would work together.
