need a 8 channel preamp
So i was thinking that i wanted a good ( 8 channel mic pre) to add to my roland 1880, but then i thought tha i might as well get a interface or a firewire if i am gonna go with 8 channels anyway so that when i upgrade then i don't have to buy a interface....i was thinking a mackie onyx or the firepod or something....do you guys have anyideas...i would like yourr opinions on what has the better options...which one makes a better preamp...for drums/vocals guitars/cabs...ease of use...what comes with what softwear....or if you guys know of a good cheap preamp then i'll just get that

People who have heard both seem to thing the onyx pres are better. I've got the firepod and it works great for me. Comes with cubase LE but I'd toss that and just download Reaper
