Free Web Development???

I've recently been looking into free tools for website creation. I've found a couple interesting products.

www.wordpress.org - This is intended to be used for Blog sites but is PHP compatible. Looks like it could be awesome.

http://sapid.sourceforge.net/ - This is a full on CMS and may be better suited for a Musician's website.

Does anyone here have any experience with these tools? Can anyone recommend something that works for them that's free?

Steven

You're not gonna like my answer, and I don't mean this sarcasically, but Notepad.

Seriously. It already comes on your PC, and if you want to do something like PHP, you can find the entire PHP Manual online. There are loads of HTML tutorials as well (if you're new to web development).

I think there's even a free PHP IDE out there. I forget what it's called, but it's there.

I haven't used any of the tools you listed above, so I can't comment on them. Some of them, however, might be overkill, depending on what you're intending to do as far as your website goes.
