Sonar on iMac?

Hi,
I saw a post on the Sonar 6 forum from someone who was running Sonar on an iMac through Bootcamp without a problem, and was wondering what the experience of others' here might be in relation to this because I had read an article an article in an audio magazine shortly after Bootcamp came out in which the writer stated that the high latency results that he had got running a PC based sequencer via Bootcamp would probably be typical of the results of running any PC based sequencer on a Mac because of the Mac CPU.

(I can't remember if there was a technical explanation, but the gist of it was that any PC sequencer would run slower because the cpu was having to perform extra 'translation' duties that a Mac does not have to run when running software 'native' to the OS).

So, what do people think? I had been very interested in buying a Mac as my DAW before I saw this article, but am set on using Sonar as my sequencer.

Now, the post that I read on the other forum has me thinking again.

I'd be very grateful for any thoughts on this.

Thanks,

gvdv
