multimix firewire 16

me and my mate have just ordered the 16 track multimix firewire mixer. i have downloaded the new drivers from www.alesis.com, as i have read about peoples problems turning the unit on and off in the right order, which cause major problems. will the unit work fine if I install these first. we shall be using cubase sx3, with a fairly ok pc. this mixer seems to be perfect for what we need, and at a good price. the oher options were the phonic (lesser known company), and the onyx (more expensive). but now im worried i will have problems with it. surely its only a small amount of people having problems with this unit.???????

knugen is on a distinguished road
I have the Alesis Multimix 8 FW and hace never had any problems with it. The drivers that came with the unit sucked, but once I installed the drivers available on the Alesis website, everything worked like a charm.

Yeah i got one of those. Its pretty sick. I have had no problems when turning the mixer on and off, except for this one time, i turned it off while running some other programs and my computer froze. No biggy though. Cubass is definitley not the way to go. I tried so hard with that program, but it would never work on my computer. That might just be a personal problem though. So your def. not gona have problems! ur gona be happy
