Studio Monitor Speakers

I have the chance to buy a pair of Tannoy PBM 8 Monitors for $150. I have them in my studio right now giving them a run through for a week or two. So far they are sounding good, but I want to know if there is anything I should know about them. I was originally look at a pair of M Audio active monitors for the same price at Guitar Center, but I know a guy who does a lot of music and he showed me these. Oh yeah, they are passive.

Thanks

I carried around a pair of Tannoy PBM 6.5's for years as the antidote to the dread NS-10m's that were the 'industry standard' because they sounded bad and were fatiguing to mix on.

The PBM 8's have more bottom end that turns into boominess unless you place them carefully and use them, as I used the 6.5's, for nearfield listening only.

Other than that, they're great speakers and that's a steal of a price if both work well.

What are the M audio's for the same price. One would think they are bx4's or something small? If that's the case I'd go for the Tannoy's. If on the other hand you can score BX8'S for that price.... get me a pair too.
