M-79-4 becomes mix deck
The 1/2" M-79 has been feeling neglected now that most all of my tracking is digital. More importantly, I've sold or traded the other 2-track machines, except for the M-23 which isn't quite functional, so I'm mixing to a MicroTrack via S/PDIF, which is fine as a backup and for less important things, but tape is often necessary for mixing.
So, now I've moved the remaining M-79 back into the studio to serve as a 2-track mix deck. Since I don't have 1/2" 2-track heads, at least yet, I'll need to swap in my extra 1/4" guides to run it as a 1/4" machine. As far as I can tell, there aren't many degrees of freedom in how those guides align, so I should be OK. We'll see... Cheers, Otto |
