Drum machine program

I am looking for a good program that I can use to map out drum beats. I need something that will do more than just loops cause I plan to map out full songs with the program. Does anyone know something that I should try out???

most of the more popular recording programs have midi sequencers built in. Sonar, Cubase, Nuendo...

There's also Guitar Pro, a guitar tab editor.

You can tab out an entire song of drums, render it as MIDI and run it through a drum VSTi or something.

But if your recording software has a MIDI sequencer, you could also use that.

Guitar Pro also has a percussion list of all MIDI notes and which drum they correspond to, makes it real easy.

Fruity Loops. It's the only one I've ever used, but it sure as hell does a lot, including what you describe.

First export it as a MIDI file.

Then you need to find a drum VST. I use EZDrummer.

There are some free ones too, but you'll have to search around.

Here's a link to a shareware drum machine --- LINK --- called Leafdrums.

It's easy to use, has some useful effects built in, uses .wav files and renders nicely to another .wav file when you're done putting your patterns together.

And it's very easy to string patterns together into songs.

Is there anywhere I can download a demo of EX Drummer to see if it's something that I could use?

Leafdrums is pretty cool. I usually use Hammerhead, and instead of doing an entire song at once I'll make different loops and use them in Kristal, since I usually have the same sort of drums in verses, choruses, etc.
