the last time we tried this it went from a battle to a sample battle and i think just me and reek put our beats up and there was no judging and no winner it just faded away so hopefully this time it gets done right

how about instead of a sample battle we do it like this... come up wit what ever instruments we can use i.e(piano, marc strings, violin, some kinda horn, etc) just pick certian instruments we can use and make the battle like that.... u can use those instruments however u want to meaning u can sample a piano from somewhere or you can do ur joint completely composed...yea i kno it might not be fair cause some people have better sounds but its no way around that.. and we aint got that many sample heads on hea so a sample battle wouldnt really work either

After that we'll leave it up to Mindset and the other judges...wait who are the other judges lol....It'd be nice if somebody made a kit we could use just for this battle. OK, when I judge, I'mma judge through these:

Quality
Creativity
Interest
Arrangements
Mixing

Some of those are almost the same (like creativity & interest, or arrangements & mixing, but Creativity would be self explanitory, interest being whatever the main instrument your using has to give interest, meaning if you have some piano line that's the main part of your mix, it can't be buried in there etc... it has to keep the listener interested in it... Arrangement would be like break in's, drop's, etc.... Mixing, is well self explanitory, how you mix it down etc... Quality = sounds, and how the whole thing is basically...

and probably more whenever I think of it...

and also maybe like a point system 1-10, 10 being the best, and then add them up, and winner = most points??... I think judges should really judge and be hard on the contestants. some america's got talent shit haha

Thats perfect all other judges read that and and score that way. so what we need right now is a list of peeps in the battle and a list of peeps that are judges, oh yea and fyre ain't gonna be takin part in this i don't think cuz he went home for the holiday so he won't be back for a while. we gonna need this list fast if we submitting in 2 days i myself am a battle contestant

I dont' have any kits, all I have is a million sounds scattered all over. that would be a very large kit.

as said b 4 no sampling, or no extensive sampling. Minimum of 3 minutes?

Can you chalk up a kit please...just throw the sounds you want on ur desktop and put them in a zip folder. And post it...maybe something like 3-5 kicks 3 snares, a couplue of brass or synths...or something of that nature... is that possible Mindset?

Can't do it today, I'm at wo rk right now lol, making that POS $13/hr. I won't be home until like late tonight, and at that time, I'm usually not on the computer cause the baby's need to be put to sleep and it's shower time & rest time 4 me... Can't do it until like 3-4pm Saturday. I got studio time today from 1-4, and then class from 7-10 in the studio, and then I got 10-1pm booked saturday to record a commercial. So maybe D Ease gots a kit yall can use, or we won't use a kit, and just come as hard as you can.

I can't wait until they get this studio finished being built in April. It's like as big as a football field, and the whole building is floated, using springs and other shit... there's like 3 floating floors after that. There using this console in one of the studios that I'll be working in when it's finished..... www.smartav.com then I can start charging $200/hr
