Korg Karma trade-in value?
I'm going to be upgrading to a Roland RD700sx in about a month. The local dealer will take trades and I was wondering what would be a fair tradein value for my Karma. I see new ones still for $1500, used ones on ebay for about $750. Mine has the PCM06/07 Orchestral Pack expansion set, which is $200 new by itself. I was thinking that if I could get $600 credit for the Karma towards tha RD700sx that would be fair for both of us. Should I hold out for more? I put the value of this at about $850 by what I see on ebay.

We'll see how it goes. I can always sell the thing myself but it would be so much easier to trade. Plus it helps that I've only got $500 in the karma (yeah, i did steal it)

About a year and a half ago, I sold a Karma on eBay for around $900. I'd definitely recommend going that route.

I thought Korg must have done that, the price on the display model at another dealer dropped from $1350 to $970 in one week. I'm guessing that I'll just keep the thing and sell it later.

Let it ride on ebay for 10 or 14 days, you will be amazed how much you can get for it

Just an update. My 700sx is sitting in my living room now and I still have the Karma......will be for sale soon.

Used retail is $1200 so you could expect 50%-60% of that for trade in - $600-700.
