FS: Ampex AG-440B 1/4" 2 track recorder w/remote

This machine was posted here back in August. I thought I had a buyer back in August, but he is acting on behalf of a museum in Chicago and changes at the top apparently put all plans on hold for some months. Sooo... I'm again offering for sale an excellent Ampex AG-440B 1/4" 2-track half-track machine, 15/7.5 ips NAB machine with remote. Everything works fine and the heads have very low hours.

The two-track heads were recently optically aligned by JRF and then electronically aligned by me and then pretty much not used because I started using the machine as a mono machine (sorry, mono heads sold a while ago). John said there was no point talking about relapping because there is virtually no wear on the heads. A great sounding, robust machine.

I'm still asking $450 plus shipping for the entire unit, but I will consider offers for the remote, headstack, and electronics separately. It's here in my house, zip code is 65203. I'll find some pictures and post them in a reply to this message. Send me a PM if you're interested!
