Recommended export rate??

What does everyone recommend for the quality of the export. I believe you can have like 8 bit, 16 bit, and 24 bit. Which would you choose? and also there is the second option of kb/s or Khz (I think it's one of those..not sure though) You can have anywhere from like 8,000 - 96,000 or something like that. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks for the help in advance

ya man, cd quality is 16 bit 44.1 k. You should record at 24, and 44.1 or higher and then export to cd quality. if you are going to get it mastered and want to send it via email or something, mix it down to 24 bit 44.1k or 24 bit 96k if your comp can handle it. If its going on a cd though, 16bit 44.1. there are tons of debates and stuff on that, if you search you can find some useful information. keep rockin!

Well, don't export it any higher than it already is, that will just waste space with no benefit.

Like The Flame said, if it's going straight to a CD, export it at 16 bit/44.1KHz.

If you plan on doing more processing on it, I'd say keep it how it is.

You should ideally export at the same quality level as your project. If you're going to drop down the bit depth, in other words say your project has been running at 24bit and you want to export it at 16, ALWAYS DITHER! Don't just export at the lower bit depth than the setting for your project. To dither, have some dithering plugin inserted on the master buss (ideally in the post fader slot, I usually stick it in the last slot), for example the UV22 or something like the L2 with dithering turned on. When using such plugins, set the dither bit depth to whatever you're going to export your project to.

However, you don't need to worry about anything when dropping the sample rate as Cubase handles it on its own.
