FS: 2 x Gadget Labs Wave824 PCI interface

Hey all,

I'm upgrading my DAW after many years of use. For sale I have 2 Gadget Labs cards. Here are some specs:

- 8 in / 8 out 24bit 48kHz AD/DA, very good sounding, very clean
- PCI card with 19" rack mount break out box
- 2 in are balanced XLR, 6 are 1/4", same for the outs
- -10/+4 switchable on all in/outs
- direct hardware monitoring of inputs via outputs (0 latency)
- ugly ass teal green BO box

Not sure what these are worth these days, but I see them on e-bay for $150-200 each, so how does $175 each shipped in North America sound? Open to offers of course, or trade for other studio gear.

Later,
Arek.

ps ... yes, I know I'm new here ... we all gotta start somewhere though!

Did the GadgetLabs user group ever get the XP drivers working? If not, you need to specify this will only work with older versions of Windows.

I used to have one of these until it died (shortly after GadgetLabs went out of business) and it was a great interface.

My DAW is Windows 2000, so it is working well for me. You are however correct that there are no official drivers for Windows Xp since Gadget Labs is no more. There is a very strong support community with many users ... of course once you install it, there is little to do ... it just works! The XP driver that is out now was developed by the community, with the help of at least 1 GL developer from the company. The driver is stable and works well, with latency down to 10ms or so. I cannot comment on actual use though, since I've only used it in Windows 2000.

The user group is alive and well, and there are a lot of us still using this box. XP drivers are available and working for most people without any issues. We had to give up the midi features completely for this to happen. It's a nice little box, has decent convertors and 8-in, 8 out 1/4" connectors. No pre-amps or controls of any kind. There are certainly better options out there now (at about 4 times the going rate of $150). I bought mine about two weeks after the company went belly up, but it's still the most used piece of gear in my humble setup.
