Talking Garage Studio

I built my studio in my garage... here's one way...
1. Seal and caulk garage doors, insulate and build a wall behind them.
2.Frame, insulate & drywall another room with 2X4's or better 4" inside of garage walls. You have a room within a room.
3. I carpeted some walls and put up wood paneling on others
4. Build vocal booth or drum room with a window (Double glass/slanted)use heavy solid doors.
5. My studio is nearly sound proof and it was not very expensive to build.
6. I can record any time of day or night and never disturb the neighbors. They can mow their lawns rev their car engines while I record a soft vocal passage with a highly sensitive condensor mic.
7. If I had it to do over again I would isolate the walls and floor from the existing cement slab. This would eliminate the low frequency vibrations (Bass and Drums) that are barely audible and "felt" in the house.
