how do you trigger a snare sample?

i've just recorded a drum take for a new song. i want to keep the take but the snare sound isn't up to much. can anyone tell me how to replace this with another snare, maybe one i've already got on another song. do i need to set up some sort of trigger

thanks

simon

If you want to replace, you could just place the snare sample on the sequencer where you want it to go.

if you dont want to use drumagog (though you should, its VERY cool) you can load any audio file via a front-loading midi sampler.

Can you use wav and aif files with Drumagog or does it use special files?

4 votes for Drumagog. You can use .wav files. I'm not sure about .aif, but it prolly does.

That little app will freakin' save a drum session. It's always a life saver on a live recording, typically on snare and/or kick.

You can use wav, aiff or sdII. You will have to load it in and make a gog file, bit that takes about 10 seconds.

so that's what triggering is. This drummer of this band I'm recording keeps asking could I trigger his drumset but could never really exlain to me exactly what that means. So how does that drumagog thing work? If it only works for 14 days, you could export songs and put them on cd using drumagog, right?

Drumagog is used during mixing. Each time the snare is hit =, it replaces the hit with a sampled hit. You can change the sample to just about anything.

No wonder you can't figure out how to make your software work. You've got nothing but a bunch of cracks. Good luck getting any more help.

Phst, work? Who wants to work for a living when you can get stuff for free? Sure it's dodgy, invites viruses into your computer, is a slap in the face to the creator's livelyhood, and offers you no support... but free is free, even if it's a dog turd. It's not even "sticking it to the man", we aren't talking about some huge corperate conglomerate here. Fuckin pirates.
