Audio Technica ATM 610
When I was looking at this forum yesterday I was originally inspired to get a Beta SM58 but then I read someone"s entry about this microphone
saying how good it was. I went to the PA Centre today and I wanted something which was better then the SM 58 so I spoke to the guy that was serving me . He has lots of experiance in sound engineering and he was raving about this mic. He introduced me to this ATM610 Hypercardiod dynamic vocal microphone . He let me test this mic with the Beta SM58 and the Shure SM58 and although the beta was great and clear this one was suprisingly warm as well as clear. I used it for the first time today at a gig and it blew me away , I really enjoyed the natural sound and some of my musician freinds noticed the differance . I am well glad that I brought this. These are fairly new mics and they are the Audio Technica artist series mics. Dave ![]() |

Here's a dirct link to a pro audio website that has some info:
http://proav.pubdyn.com/2006October/...ewProducts.htm Then scroll down to live sound microphones. There is not that much info on the web as these are fairly new , apparently they came out a month ago. Dave |

Although I am well pleased with The ATM 610 .
Well today I finally picked up the Audio Technica ATM 710 and wow! what another winner. this is a very powerful sensitive mic , and the great thing is that it picks up every detail in your voice , even the tiny nuances, the whispers and promixy effect is great .Folks who know how to use mic techniques will find this a real treat. Apparently these mics are also good on accoustic guitars. I am going to use both the 610 and the 710 to stereo mic my guitars when I record on my digital 8 track. Its like having a studio quality mic when singing live. For £128 its a great price for the quality. I got it from the London PA Centre and the staff there were really helpful. They have been going like hot cakes , I was blessed enough to get the last one before they order some more. Dave |
