I only like the pretty mics; the ugly mics just don't sound good, for some reason

Ever use a Ribbon mic. their more nature sounding then a lot of condensers or dynamic mics bet if you tried one out you would find out that you would love it. Beyer,RCA,Royer, are just a few that are totally awesome mics especially with M/S micing.

I know! One time I was tracking a vocalist and I kept hearing a waterfall in the recording. I couldn't figure it out, I checked and rechecked my whole chain but couldn't find the source until I realized I was using a ribbon mic! Duh!

Man, I felt pretty stupid. Especially since it was a death metal band

Glue some rhinestones on, call them bling mics, and then you're set.
