What am I doing wrong here!

After trimming the unwanted beginning of my recording, I set the marker a bit to the left of the beginning of the song where I want to start. After I export the file in wav format to listen, the unwanted silent part I trimmed off is still there as a long silent beginning. I can't get the recording to start at the marker point that I had. WHat am I doing wrong here?

Better yet, set your markers at head and tails, go to the head', hit F9 to select the 'start', click to the end marker and hit F10 to set the end.

This is especially good one to use for your 'bounce to tracks' in-the-box mix where you're selecting all of the clips and tracks to go into the mix.

Right, if you have more than one track (or tracks made of many clips) the F9-F10 thing is the... well, thing.
Then add (is it 'shift or 'control?) + click to add more the tracks to the selection.

Or you could slide your tracks left so thay start on 00.00.00 after you've removed the unwanted silence

Another approach would be to simply remove the entire section.

Go to Edit > Select All. Then, in the Time Ruler, left click and hold the mouse button and drag it over the section you wish to remove. If you've done it properly, the section you to be removed should be highlighted across all the tracks in the project.

Then, go to Edit > Delete. Make sure the Delete Hole checkbox is checked in the popup window, and select OK.

That would be the scale up at the top where your markers are. 'Seemed like you were half way there is the first post.
